Community Summer Camps: Empowering Local Youth Through Partnership | Family Legacy Fitness
Family Legacy Fitness & Martial Arts Partners with CAREducation Foundation to Support Youth Summer Camps and Young Entrepreneurs
Sometimes a single opportunity can change the direction of a child’s life.
A moment where a young person feels seen.
Encouraged.
Believed in.
Sometimes all it takes is one mentor, one supportive organization, one positive experience, or one community partnership to help a child realize:
“I can do more than I thought possible.”
That is why we are incredibly excited to announce a new partnership between Family Legacy Fitness & Martial Arts, led by Tim Rook, and the CAREducation Foundation, led by Jimmy Edwards.
Together, we are creating opportunities for local youth and families through two unique summer camp experiences:
Let’s Make a Movie Summer Camp
Young Entrepreneur Summer Camp
As part of this partnership, the CAREducation Foundation will be sponsoring $1,000 in scholarship support to help families who may need financial assistance. These scholarships will provide qualifying families with 50% off camp tuition, helping more kids gain access to educational, creative, and confidence-building experiences this summer.
In addition, the CAREducation Foundation will also provide $500 in grant funding that will be awarded to the top three youth entrepreneurs participating in the Young Entrepreneur Summer Camp Vendor Expo.
And honestly, this partnership represents something much bigger than camp registration.
It represents belief in the next generation.

At Family Legacy Fitness & Martial Arts, the mission has always been to strengthen your family while helping build habits that create your legacy. Through martial arts, leadership development, fitness, creativity, entrepreneurship, and community involvement, Tim Rook and the Family Legacy Fitness team are passionate about helping youth and families discover confidence, discipline, communication skills, teamwork, and purpose.
That vision aligned naturally with the mission of the CAREducation Foundation and the leadership of Jimmy Edwards, whose dedication to supporting education, opportunity, and community growth continues to make a positive impact throughout the region.
The Let’s Make a Movie Summer Camp gives youth and teens the opportunity to explore filmmaking through acting, storytelling, cinematography, teamwork, and stunt performance concepts. Students collaborate in film crews while learning communication, confidence, and leadership skills in a creative environment.
The Young Entrepreneur Summer Camp challenges students to think creatively, solve problems, develop business ideas, learn branding and leadership skills, and build confidence through public speaking and teamwork.
But one of the most exciting parts of this partnership comes after the camp itself.
At the conclusion of the Young Entrepreneur Summer Camp, students will participate in a special Vendor Expo event where they will pitch their business concepts to an audience of parents, local business owners, community leaders, and guest judges from across Prince William County.
Think about that for a moment.
Young students standing confidently in front of community leaders.
Presenting ideas.
Learning communication skills.
Receiving mentorship.
Practicing leadership.
Believing in themselves.
These are the kinds of moments that help shape the future.
And thanks to the support of Jimmy Edwards and the CAREducation Foundation, the top three youth entrepreneurs will receive grant funding to help encourage and support their business ideas moving forward.
At Family Legacy Fitness & Martial Arts, we believe leadership is not something you wait to develop later in life.
Leadership begins now.
It begins when a child chooses courage over fear.
When a teen speaks in front of a crowd for the first time.
When families support one another.
When communities come together to invest in youth.
We are incredibly grateful to Jimmy Edwards and the CAREducation Foundation for believing in local families, youth development, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.
Partnerships like this remind us what can happen when organizations unite around a shared mission to serve others and create opportunities for the next generation.
To the families considering camp this summer:
this is about much more than simply keeping kids busy.
This is about helping them discover confidence, creativity, leadership, teamwork, and purpose.
This is about helping them grow stronger together.
